ETHNIC EVENTS AND THE BSU HONORS COLLEGE

Chapter Two

In the summer break between the 2020 – 2021 and 2021 – 2022 school years (May – August 2021), I was an intern at a Chicago-based start-up called Ethnic Events. While there, I was responsible for

  • Crafted blog articles on various topics for main website, such as Juneteenth and Pride Month
  • Managed Twitter and LinkedIn accounts to help promote company’s blog articles and additional cultural events in Chicagoland area
  • Assisted with company outreach through email, with the target being potential communication with similar organizations in San Francisco, California
    • Strategized with supervisor and fellow interns on target outreach meetings

Chapter Three

During the 2021 – 2022 school year, I was also a part of a communications fellowship with Ball State’s Honors College (which I myself was a student of). I worked alongside three other Honors students, where I was responsible for

  • Created content for Honors College social media presence on X (formerly known as Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook
    • Utilized Canva to craft design assets
  • Cooperated with other fellowship members and supervisor through GroupMe and email
