Chapter One
Since 2021, I have been building up my experience in communications and marketing. It all began at Ball State, where I was a part of a communications internship called Compass Creative from January 2021 to May 2022. In the spring 2021 semester, I was a member of the Blog and Social Media teams (Blog from January to March and Social Media from March to May).
As a member of the Blog Team, I was responsible for
- Conducted email interviews with students for the blog series “Curation Chronicles,” which detailed students who were in active internships
- Led email interviews with alumni for the blog series “Cardinal Directions,” which detailed their past studies and present careers
- Edited and formatted interviews and other content, such as guest posts on WordPress sites for both the English Department and the greater College of Sciences and Humanities (CSH)
After transitioning to the Social Media team, I was responsible for
- Maintained social media presence for English Department and CSH on several platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook by designing content
- Coordinated blog postings for CSH and the English Department
- Edited and formatted posts on WordPress sites
- Regulated email interviews with students, alumni, and faculty for blog series (“Curation Chronicles” and “Cardinal Directions”), guest posts, and promotional content
Throughout the 2021 – 2022 school year, I was the Blog Team’s Student Project Manager. As such, I was responsible for
- Allotted assignments to student members comprised of editing documents, emailing interview subjects, etc.
- Partnered with other project managers during weekly meetings to discuss our respective teams and their progress
